Organize

Merge, split and rearrange pages.

Merge PDF

Combine PDFs in the order you want.

Upload two or more PDFs, drag the rows until the order looks right, and download one combined file. Page sizes, orientation and embedded fonts come across from each source untouched.

Split PDF

Cut one PDF into several files.

Choose page ranges like 1-3, 4-8, chunks of a fixed size, or one file per page. Each result keeps its searchable text, and several files arrive together in a single ZIP.

Organize PDF

Reorder, rotate and delete pages visually.

Every page appears as a thumbnail. Drag them into a new order, turn the sideways ones with the rotate icon, drop the ones you do not want, then rebuild the document in one pass.

Remove Pages

Delete the pages you do not need.

Type the pages to drop — single numbers, ranges like 5-7, or the words odd and even. Everything you keep is copied across untouched, so nothing is re-compressed and no quality is lost.

Extract Pages

Keep only a selection of pages.

Name the pages worth keeping and get a new PDF containing only those. Single pages and ranges can be mixed, and they always come out in document order however you type them.

Rotate PDF

Turn pages the right way up.

Turn the whole document, or just the pages you name, by 90, 180 or 270 degrees. The rotation is written into the file itself, so it survives being reopened in any reader.

Crop PDF

Trim margins away.

Set a margin in points for each edge and the visible area of the page shrinks to match. Nothing is deleted — content outside the new boundary is simply no longer displayed.

Optimize

Compress and repair your files.

Edit

Change text, add marks and numbering.

Convert from PDF

PDF into Word, Excel, images and more.

Convert to PDF

Office files and images into PDF.

Security

Protect or unlock documents.

No tool matches that search.

Free, with no signup and no subscription

No account, no email address, no card, and no paid tier waiting behind the third click. No daily quota and no page ceiling either.

Your documents stay yours

Uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our own servers, never handed to a third-party API, never read by a person, and permanently deleted within two hours.

No sign-up, no watermark

No email, no password, no credit card. Nothing we add is stamped on your document unless you asked for a watermark yourself.

Real text editing, not overlays

Most editors paste a white box over the old text. We replace the actual text object and match the original font, size, weight and color.

How it works

Three steps, no account, nothing to install.

  1. 1

Choose your tool and drop the file in

Pick from 26 tools on this page, then drag your document anywhere onto the screen or browse for it. PDFs up to 100 MB, plus Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ODF and image files where the tool accepts them.

  2. 2

    Set the options that matter

Page ranges, compression strength, watermark opacity, rotation, password rules — every tool exposes the settings it genuinely needs and sensible defaults for everything else.

  3. 3

Download, and we forget the file

Your result downloads straight away. Both the upload and the output are wiped from the server automatically, whether or not you close the tab.

Why professionals use PDFolia

The differences that show up once you are working on a real document.

A PDF editor that edits the PDF

Click any line of text and retype it. The engine identifies the original font — including subset and embedded fonts — matches its size, weight, italics and color, then writes the replacement into the page itself. The result is a searchable, selectable PDF, not a picture of one.

See every change before you commit

The editor previews each edit live on the page and lists every change in a side panel. Click any entry to jump back to it, drag a mark to move it, or remove it with one click. Nothing is baked in until you download.

Conversions that respect the layout

PDF to Word keeps fonts, sizes, colors and emphasis. PDF to Excel groups words into rows and columns by their real position on the page. Office files are converted with LibreOffice, so a DOCX becomes the PDF you expect.

Proper document security

Protect a file with AES-256 encryption and decide separately whether printing and copying stay allowed. Already have the password? Unlock the file and get a clean copy with the restrictions removed.

Compression that keeps text sharp

Only raster images are re-encoded. Text and vector graphics are never rasterized, so a compressed contract stays crisp at any zoom and remains fully searchable — it just weighs less.

Works on whatever you are holding

Everything runs in the browser tab. Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iPhone all behave the same, with no extension, no desktop app and no Java or Acrobat license in sight.

Built for the paperwork you actually handle

The same tools, described the way each kind of work actually uses them.

For small businesses and freelancers

The document work that sits between you and getting paid.

  • Correct a wrong figure, address or reference on an invoice without rebuilding it in your accounting software
  • Combine a quote, a purchase order and a delivery note into one attachment before sending it to a client
  • Compress a scanned receipt or statement so it fits an expense portal's upload limit
  • Convert a signed contract back to Word so the next version can be edited rather than retyped
  • Add a DRAFT watermark and page numbers to a proposal before it goes out for review

For students, researchers and teachers

Reading lists, submissions and handouts.

  • Merge lecture slides and reading extracts into one file for offline study
  • Split a long textbook scan into the chapters you are actually working through
  • Compress a dissertation with embedded figures so it fits a submission portal's size cap
  • Convert a PDF to Word to quote from it properly instead of retyping passages
  • Turn slides into images for a presentation, a poster or a handout

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about limits, privacy and what these tools can and cannot do.

Is this PDF editor really free, with no limits?

Yes. There is no daily quota, no cap on pages or file count, no watermark added to your output and no paid tier hiding the useful settings. You do not need an account, an email address or a card. The only practical limit is a 100 MB ceiling per upload, which exists so one enormous file cannot slow the server down for everyone else.

Do I need to create an account or install anything?

No. Every tool runs in your browser tab and talks to the server only to do the actual processing. There is no extension, no desktop application and nothing to license. It works the same on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone.

What happens to my files after I use a tool?

Uploads and results are written to a temporary working directory and deleted automatically within two hours by a background sweeper, whether or not you close the tab. Nothing is passed to a third-party service, nothing is used for training and nothing is kept for analytics.

Can I really edit the text inside a PDF, or does it just add a text box?

It genuinely edits the text. Click a line, retype it, and the engine locates the original text object, works out its font — including embedded and subset fonts — and rewrites it at the same size, weight, slant and color. The output stays selectable and searchable. Many free tools only lay an opaque box over the old words, which falls apart the moment somebody copies text or opens the file in a different reader.

Will my formatting survive a PDF to Word conversion?

Text, font sizes, colors, bold and italics carry across, and the page order is preserved. Complex multi-column layouts, form fields and vector drawings do not map cleanly onto a Word document, so the converter does not invent a layout it cannot honor. For a faithful visual copy, keep the PDF; for editable copy, convert.

Is it safe to upload a confidential contract or a tax document?

Files are processed on our own servers and are never sent to an external API. They are deleted automatically within two hours. If your organization requires that documents never leave your own infrastructure at all, this application is self-hostable — run it on your own machine or private server and nothing ever crosses your network boundary.

Which file formats can I convert?

From PDF you can produce Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), plain text, HTML and PNG images. Into PDF you can bring Word (DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF), Excel (XLS, XLSX, ODS, CSV), PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX, ODP), HTML pages and images in PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP or WebP.

Does compressing a PDF ruin the quality?

Text and vector graphics are never touched, so they stay perfectly sharp at any zoom and remain searchable. Only embedded raster images are re-encoded, and you choose how far: Light keeps images close to the original, Recommended balances size against quality, and Strong is for when the file simply has to fit an upload limit.
